P.Monamy delin W.H.Toms sculp 1736 ... York, St Mary's Abbey; view looking across the river Ouse, with various small craft, towards the ruins of the Abbey. Published in Eboracum: or, the history and antiquities of the City of York : Illustrated with Copper Plates by Francis Drake in 1736 very very scarce. Eboracum was published in 1736, for 540 subscribers, who included the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of London. Drake was elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and of the Royal Society in the same year. In 1741 he was appointed honorary surgeon to York County Hospital but lost the position in 1745 due to his Jacobite sympathies.
