The magazine began publication with the January 1731 issue. PROSPECT PLACE, Wimbledon Surry a Villa belonging to Mr Meyrick
Engraved by  James Edwards drawn by  Sylvester Harding. Published c. 1780s  Image  size 209 x 282 mm,  The first stage began about 1757 when Peter Taylor, a London goldsmith, built “a handsome villa”  to the east  of the modern Atkinson Morley’s Hospital. Called it Prospect Place because it had “an extensive prospect to the south”. Ten years later his son sold the  estate to Moses Isaac Levy who  enlarged the house and lay out the garden “judiciously”with landscaping by Humphry Repton His successor four years later, James Meyrick, a Parliamentary agent… transformed the Prospect Place estate, Old tint some minor creasing edge tear base £45

 One of a series of detailed road maps from Edward Mogg's A Survey of the Roads from London to Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Hastings, Tunbridge Wells, Margate, Ramsgate & Dover, Laid down on a Scale of one Inch to a Mile, pub. 18 June, 1808, by Edward Mogg, No. 51, Charing Cross, London Printed by Whittingham and Rowland, Printers, Goswell Street Original hand-colour and copper-plate engraved. There was only one edition which is now scarce. Each map measures about 211Ž2 cm x 141Ž2 cm (h x w) £35 unmounted

It contained County Maps from the Cole and Roper plates, previously published some 25 years earlier in such as the BRITISH ATLAS of 1810. Subsequent editions, issued in the 1840's, contained maps engraved by Joshua Archer of Pentonville, London £25 inc delivery

Copper engraved map hand coloured Size 12x18cms both sides shown and tinted .Notes that appear on the front and back of each map were by the antiquarian and lawyer John Owen the engraving was by Emanuel Bowen This was Bowen's first major work as an engraver for which he received a part share in the atlas in payment . The atlas was republished many times over the next forty years until the last edition in 1764.
