Temp S M de Pace' He was born 1627 in Rome. He inherited the
most important printing press in Rome in the 17th century from his
father Giuseppe (1570-1639). His major work the atlas "Mercurio
Geografico" was published from 1690 till 1714 in Rome. He died in 1691.
Stunninngly rare as to why. . . no idea but on two sheets no damage

Henry Abraham Chatelain An elaborate family tree depicting the ruling
houses of Naples and Sicily and their alliances, with historical
remarks, embellished with coats of arms and maps of Sicily and
Naples. From Chatelain's monumental 7 volume Atlas
Historique.Published in Amsterdam . . . 1720.
Zacharie Chatelain (d.1723) was the father of Henri Abraham (1684-1743)
and Zacharie Junior (1690-1754). They worked as a partnership
publishing the Atlas Historique, Ou Nouvelle Introduction A
L’Histoire … under several different Chatelain imprints,
depending on the Chatelain family partnerships at the time of
publication. The atlas was published in seven volumes between
1705 and 1720, with a second edition appearing in 1732. The maps
were accompanied by information pertaining to cosmography, geography,
history, chronology, genealogy, topography, heraldry, and costume of
the world.
The maps in the Atlas Historique were mainly based on those of the
French cartographer, Guillaume De L’Isle, but were presented by
the Chatelains in an encyclopaedic form. The accompanying text is
in French and often is printed in two columns on the page with maps and
other illustrations interspersed. Each map and table is numbered
consecutively within its volume and all maps bear the privileges of the
States of Holland and West-Friesland.Excellent condition £120 inc

the most important exponent of Florentine vedute painting. Part of a
"selection" of views of Florence drawn by Giuseppe Zocchi produced by
the press of the Florentine printer Giuseppe Allegrini, were
commissioned for and financed by Marquis Andrea Gerini,
dedicated to Maria Teresa of Austria .The original plates of the Scelta
di XXIV Vedute immediately underwent two further printings in Florence,
by Giuseppe Bouchard, in 1754 and in 1757. A posthumous edition was
also printed by Giuseppe Zocchi’s brother Cosimo, again in
Florence, around 1770 from the paper age it is one of these printings
not the later ones . . . on laid paper.

borders. A clean crisp impression. Size: 39.5 x 27 cm. (15½
x 10½ inches) Nero's vast palace in Rome, built after the
fire of AD65. The palace was legendary, and
responsible for Nero's unpopularity. When the palace was pulled down,
the lake at its centre became the site of the Colosseum. The palace was
buried until the Middle Ages, when artists such as Raphael and
Michaelangelo has themselves lowered into it by rope to admire the
